All of the projects I have posted about so far in 2016 have all been running alongside my main university project.
So, it is only right that I tell you a little about that. Starting with my inspiration.
Following the completion of my previous piece, The Fall, I decided to create a second piece inspired by a Biblical story.
For those that know me, one inspiration board is not enough. So enjoy my small library of inspiration for this project below.
Another project I undertook over the Christmas period was the fantastic opportunity to enter a competition that saw me design a medal for the worldwide banking group, HSBC.
As you may be aware, I am based in Birmingham and so too will HSBC in the coming years. To commemorate the bank relocating its UK headquarters back into the city they are looking for a medal to be buried in the foundations of their new building as a part of a time capsule.
As well as the potential to have my design produced and immortalised in the time capsule, this has been a great learning experience as I have discovered more features of the ArtCam Software.
I have added the design board for the medal below which includes a brief rationale about my choice of design.
Wish me luck!
As you may know from my previous post, I got very little rest over the Christmas period. This is just the way I like to be, very busy.
Here is a design board I have prepared for a client who was looking for a wedding band to fit alongside their existing engagement ring.
To do this the engagement ring was 3D scanned into software on my computer to allow me to perfectly match up my design using Rhino.
After discussing ideas, it was clear that they preferred a shape to fit design over a cut to fit and so, I came to the design you see below.
So it may be a little late but Happy New Year and welcome to 2016!
Sorry I haven't posted much, but I have been a very busy jeweller leading up to Christmas. I've had various projects I have been working on, one of which was a very special commission.
I was asked to design and produce a bespoke, hand crafted engagement ring for a very special couple. Now he has popped the question (and of course, she said yes) I can finally share the piece with you all.
Congratulations to the happy couple.
